The Dolphin Players were organized in 1979. Our mission: Producing Quality Theater in an intimate setting. In 2011 we found our permanent home. With the help of private donors, we are purchasing and renovating the old Sunset Theater/lodge hall in the Empire District of Coos Bay. The City of Coos Bay, through Urban Renewal funds, has provided funds to bring the building up to ADA standards. We are always looking for directors who want to produce shows that meet our Mission Statement, as well as prospective participants. Many skills are needed, both on and off stage, and we welcome new volunteers. The Dolphins also sponsor a monthly play reading group and have participated in community fundraisers and telethons. We are actively involved in the Community Coalition of Empire and partner with several community organizations.
